The Atomic Punks are a tribute to early Van Halen, focused on the David Lee Roth era. Formed in 1994, they have performed well over 2,000 shows throughout the United States. Their power-packed stage show recreates the era’s guitar sound, vocals, costumes, backing vocals, energy, and note-for-note performance feel. Current guitarist Lance Turner recreates Eddie Van Halen’s classic sound, while Brian Young recreates David Lee Roth’s live persona. Original Punks members Joe Lester and Scott Patterson provide the rhythm section, with Joe and Lance adding signature backing vocals. The band makes clear that they are not Van Halen—they simply love to play old Van Halen.
