About Us
Los Angeles Bowie tribute The Band That Fell To Earth centers on the live feel of Ziggy Stardust while covering more than 50 songs from Space Oddity to Blackstar. Costume changes, sonic accuracy, and a California-tested show make the format easy to place.
The Band That Fell To Earth is a David Bowie tribute act from Los Angeles built around the live intensity of the Ziggy Stardust era, using Ziggy as a visual touchstone while reaching across Bowie’s catalog.
Their set covers more than 50 Bowie songs, from early material including Space Oddity and When I’m Five through to selections from Blackstar. The show has expanded to include 80s and later-period Bowie material while keeping its focus on the raw, live feel of Ziggy in his heyday.
The production centers on costume changes, sonic accuracy, and a frontman-led presentation by fellow Londoner Julian Shah-Tayler. The act has been building its live show for nearly 3 years, playing mainly in California.
The band was named one of LA Weekly’s Top 10 Tribute Bands and has been billed as the greatest all-live tribute to David Bowie in the US. A performance of Lazarus closed a set at LA’s Viper Room, and their appearances at the Labyrinth of Jareth costume ball closed the event both nights.
Londoner A. Jude (Julian) is Bowie and has performed with Kevin Armstrong and John Hutchinson from Bowie’s band. Comments on the act include Absolutely Brilliant from Nick Launay, Very Impressed from David J, and Really Excellent from Dave Schulz.
