Bio
Shining Star is a Chicago-based tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire, built around the band’s 1970s and 1980s peak years and the live recordings from concerts later released on DVD. The show centers on the songs that made Earth, Wind & Fire a lasting force in R&B and pop, with a set drawn from their top-charting hits.
The playlist includes After The Love Is Gone, Sing A Song, September, Got To Get You Into My Life from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band, Shining Star, Boogie Wonderland, and Let’s Groove Tonight. The focus is on the harmony-heavy tracks, disco cuts, and crossover songs that audiences know on sight.
The live lineup consists of lead guitar, bass guitar, 2 keyboardists, drums, a 3-piece horn section, and vocal parts based on the contrast between Maurice White’s tenor and Philip Bailey’s falsetto. In total, ten vocalists and musicians join forces to present the show.
For buyers, the format is clear: a full-band Earth, Wind & Fire tribute with horns, multiple keys, and a song list built around familiar titles. It is a direct recreation of the music and show associated with one of the most successful stories in popular music, aimed at audiences who want to hear these songs performed live.
