CarPool is an Atlanta, Georgia-based tribute band dedicated to The Cars. The show is built around the sleek synths, steady beat, and driving guitar sound that defined the band’s run as the most successful American synth-pop-rock New Wave act of the late ’70s and ’80s. The Cars’ catalog comes with deep recognition: six multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 40 singles, crossover success across radio formats, and songs that became fixtures in movie soundtracks. Their first two albums, The Cars (1978) and Candy-O (1979), are established classics, while 1984’s Heartbeat City became a modern pop landmark with videos that were MTV staples. The band broke up in 1988 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. CarPool recreates the sound, feel, look, and vibe that made The Cars famous. The band is made up of five full-time musicians from the Atlanta area, and the live performance is centered on capturing the essence of the original material on stage. The result is a recognizable tribute set built for public events, private parties, corporate events, concerts, and festivals. Live show available worldwide.
