Best of Foo is a Foo Fighters tribute based in the NY/NJ area, formed in early 2017. Before starting the group, Dennis Kozar, Juan Hernandez, Mike Ferreira, and Chris Kozar played together in an original band called civic. After their singer left, they were unable to find the right replacement. They began playing cover songs and kept coming back to the Foo Fighters. Once they had learned a handful of songs, the idea of building a full tribute band took shape. When the band started talking about who could step into the Dave Grohl role, Phil Barbetta from the band Corevalay stood out right away. His passion and aggressive vocals were the best fit for the Foo Fighters sound. After a few rehearsals, the lineup became official under the name Best of Foo. The band played its debut show in October 2017. From there, show offers increased along with the size of the audience. Their set is built around a clear focus on Foo Fighters material and a connection with crowds that know the songs and sing along. Best of Foo was formed from a genuine love of this music and continues with the goal of bringing that shared experience to a growing audience.
