Back In Black

Back In Black is an AC/DC tribute band built to recreate the sound, look, power, and excitement of an AC/DC concert performance. A key part of the show is tribute performances covering both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson, giving buyers a broader AC/DC set than a single-era tribute. The band was formed in late 2000 by former LA bandmates Mike Mroz (Angus) and Darren Caperna (Bon & Brian). The rest of the lineup was recruited from other Dallas bands: Ken Schiumo on drums, Scott Lepage on guitar, and Eric Sykes on bass. All members live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are experienced musicians focused on delivering the feel of AC/DC onstage. Back In Black was among the first tribute bands chosen by Live Nation/CBS Radio to tour the House of Blues. They toured major arenas and theaters as part of the Classic Rock Experience in 2008/2009, headlined concerts at the Calgary Saddledome and Edmonton Arena, and for the third year in a row will headline Jacks Throwback in Dallas, described as the world’s largest tribute festival. Their credits also include performing for more than 36,000 people at Bone Bash in Ft Worth, being recruited by Sony Music, AC/DC’s new record label, to promote catalog sales, and being chosen by 20th Century Fox to record TNT and A Long Way to the Top for the films Napoleon Dynamite and Garage Days. Back In Black has also performed with Cheap Trick, Foghat, Bad Company, Loverboy, Jackyl, Blue Oyster Cult, Grand Funk Railroad, Head East, Seven Mary Three, Cardboard Vampires, Living Colour, Better than Ezra, Ted Nugent, Warrant, April Wine, Great White, Night Ranger, Violent Femmes, and Vince Neil of Motley Crue. Lineup: Darren Caperna - vocals, Mike Mroz - lead guitar, Eric Sykes - bass, Scott Lepage - guitar, Ken Schiumo - drums.
