Heavy Mellow performs metal classics on flamenco guitars, built around arranged versions of metal songs with real flamenco playing. Formed in 2012 in California, the act has played Los Angeles venues and the Monsters of Rock Cruise.
HEAVY MELLOW is a Los Angeles-based trio performing metal classics on flamenco guitars. Ben Woods, Luis Villegas, and Al Velasquez combine intense flamenco playing, intricate arrangements, and percussion to celebrate the original songs while adding depth, technicality, and a distinctive acoustic feel. The group has performed at Los Angeles venues and the Monsters of Rock Cruise, and released Heavy Mellow Volumes 1&2 featuring metal classics.
