Selena is a tribute to the Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla, who tragically lost her life too soon in 1995 at the age of 23 shortly after a breakthrough Grammy win. This show is a vibrant and exciting eruption of the musical talent that was Selena. Almost Selena is more than a show - it's an experience! Karol Posadas was born in Guatemala and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Singer and songwriter of 12 years. She does amazing work portraying Selena for the past 3 years with multiple tribute bands. Now she is finally with her family band. With her brother Giovanni Fuentes as "Anything For Salinas Band" director. Every performance Karol dedicated countless hours and days to perfecting her craft. Selena Forever Tribute Band is a Dallas-based national touring act paying tribute to the legacy of Selena Quintanilla Perez, better known as Selena, the Queen of Tejano music. Selena Forever Tribute Band features national and international award-winning musicians with over 100 years of combined musical experience. Our mission is to bring the music community together to continue celebrating and honoring Selena's life, legacy, and music. Our live shows feature Selena’s most representative songs and styles, including cumbias, corridos, and rancheras. Selena Forever Tribute Band also features songs from Selena’s productions in English. Each Selena Forever Tribute Band performance is entertaining and as inclusive as possible of Selena’s work. We try to portray the best of her while paying homage to her legacy. As a young Colombian/American girl, Genessa’s musical influences varied from Gwen Stefani to Mariah Carey. It wasn’t until the discovery of Selena Quintanilla did Genessa finally see a bit of herself looking back through the television screen. Her admiration and love of Selena began in the early 90’s and only grew stronger once the Latina Icon was murdered. Selena’s style, stage presence and music then became a religion for young Genessa. The foundation was laid and as the years went by, she built upon her musical style. Genessa has toured the nation as a member of an all-girl pop group named 3rd Faze, she has appeared on American Idol, It's Showtime at the Apollo, fronted many popular New York cover bands, and is featured as background vocalist for UK pop artist, Cheryl Cole's album, "3 Words."
